Corporate Social Responsibility is a concept that has been integrated into Chilean culture since the late nineties. However, at doce&friends, we have always deemed important to encourage our employees’ welfare, environmental protection and community support, among many other factors that go beyond the daily tasks we perform at work.
Notwithstanding the above, today CSR acquires a high relevance in the way to conduct business, and constitutes an essential factor in Europe and the United States at the time to choose any given company over the other. Even consumers prefer those products causing a smaller environmental impact, or those collaborating with a specific cause, etc.
The premise to do things the right way, taking care of the environment, collaborating with the society, helping others through our “expertise”, are all policies that identify us more than ever; that is why, in 2008 our company joined “Acción RSE” (CSR Action), a non-profit organization releasing and promoting, within the private world, good corporate practices in Chile, for which purposes, we have implemented a formal plan ratifying our commitment.

Young Divers Program
doce&friends, is a part of the Young Divers Program, which grants free Basic Shellfish Diver courses to 18 year-old young men and women of low resources who attend municipal educational establishments.
\r\n So far, the program has been deployed in districts with a significant aquiculture development, but with sadly high mortality indexes among those performing diving tasks.
Since the program creation in 2008, “Young Divers” has been able to provide training for many youngsters who now have an essential tool for their job. It should be noted that this course has an Open Water SSI Certification allowing the young men and women to dive in any location worldwide as sports divers.
EThe Young Divers program is an initiative by “Véceka S.A.”, a company supplying diving products and services, with the collaboration of Chile’s Salmon Industry Association A.G (Salmon Chile), the Chilean Security Association (ACHS), and DIMARSA.
